All of the doctors in our practice have a strong commitment to general practice and continuing medical education. Whenever possible it is in your best interest to see the same doctor, who then becomes familiar with your history and can therefore give you the most appropriate advice and treatment.
Dr Corinne Lingard, FRACGP
Dr Lingard is an established medical professional with over 10 years extensive experience throughout Australia in General Practice and focus on patient wellness.
She has obtained her Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General practitioners, with an expert focus on general family medicine, mental health, women’s health and addiction medicine
She is a thorough and caring individual with strong hold in skilled treatment of a range of medical conditions for the elderly.
Dr Ali Zebarjad – “Dr Ali”, MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Ali brings a wealth of experience to our growing team.
After spending 5 years working in hospitals and providing GP services in the UK, Dr Ali moved to Australia in 2005. Since then he has cared for patients both in and out of the hospital system in various positions around Large Cities and Regional Australia.
Obtaining his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, he enjoys all aspects of medicine and loves building relationships and rapport with his patient base and the wider community.
Dr Ali is highly skilled in General Practice and has special interests which include; Chronic Disease Management, Complex management in Geriatric care, Implanon insertion and removal as well as Cosmetics – Botox & Lip Augmentation.
Dr Ali is fluent in English and Persian
Dr Chris Kirtley MB CHb Medicine, PhD Bioengineering
Dr Kirtley is a dual qualified Medical Doctor & Bio-Medical Engineer, who moved from the UK to Australia 20 + years ago. He divides his time between Australia and Shenzhen, China, working with Southport Metro Medical Centre on the Gold Coast for 3 days per week.
Chris has a wealth of knowledge and is highly experienced across all facets of General Practice, Pre Employment Medicals, Workcover and Sports Science.
He is a special interest in teaching and researching biomechanics. Chris has authored comprehensive reviews of biomechanical principles, techniques and clinical approaches to the assessment of walking disorders.
Dr Chris speaks English, French, German and basic Chinese
Dr Rakesh Bhaskar
Dr Rakesh Bhaskar has an extensive background as a GP with a special interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, having carefully looked after Mothers and babies, including the delivery of 1000s of babies in Australia over his 40+ years of practice.
Additionally, he has exceptional knowledge of diagnoses and treatment of chronic disease, occupational health, mental health and general family medicine.
He is a well-established Doctor in Australia who is caring, genuine and thorough.
Dr Bhaskar is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
Our team of Nurse Practitioner’s (NP)
It is our intention to reduce Emergency Department presentations at local Public and Private Hospitals as well as care for our day to day patient caseload, therefore Southport Metro Medical Centre has a team of highly experienced Nurse Practitioners (NP’s) who as individuals have a wide range of advanced and extended clinical skills and a specialised Scope of Practice. They provide autonomous, patient centred care.
Our Nurse Practitioners are available to consult, treat, diagnose, manage conditions, refer for investigations and prescribe for our patients – some medical conditions may mean you need to be referred to one of our Doctors as well.
Nurse Practitioners work collaboratively as an independent member of the multidisciplinary health care team and add value to our Doctors care.
Nang Sein, Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner
Nang has an extensive background as a Nurse Practitioner in both QLD and NSW. Her scope of practice suits our primary care environment. She has a specialised Scope of Practice in aged and palliative care, primary care, chronic disease management, people with long term illnesses, wound care and mental health.
Her role as a NP aims to diagnose and treat by early detection of illnesses, reduce patient emergency presentations, inpatient admissions from home/ nursing homes to the hospital and to decrease the length of stay in the hospital.
Rodney McGregor, Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner
Rod has over 20 years experience in the health care field and is a Nurse Practitioner. He joins our team as a highly experienced Trauma and Emergency acute care Medical Professional, with advanced primary care skills across an array of situations.
He is able to work independently as well as a valued member of our collaborative team to provide comprehensive health assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic investigations, differentiating a diagnosis, prescribing medications, administering immunisations, establishing collaborative therapeutic management plans and acute trauma and emergency medicine.
Together with our growing team of Nurse Practitioners they all enable our Medical Centre to provide consistency in care to all our patients.
